The Golden Retriever stands out with its soft, curly coat – use multiple shades of brown and gold layered together to create depth. Start with light cream or soft beige as your base color, then shade with medium brown and dark brown in the areas under the ears, around the neck, and on the tail. The eyes look more lively when you color them dark brown and leave white highlights unpainted. Emphasize the fluffy fur with light scratch marks using your colored pencil in the direction of hair growth – especially on the full ears and tail tip. The nose can be grayish-brown.
