Dinosaur Adventure is a rewarding learning topic. Coloring it almost automatically sparks a conversation about which dinosaurs were plant-eaters or predators, how big they grew, or why they went extinct. Color choices are entirely free, since science still doesn't know for sure what colors most species really had.

For the dinosaur adventure, we recommend creating the dinosaur in bright green shades or muted gray tones – try mixing green and brown for realistic prehistoric skin. Color the prehistoric vegetation in various shades of green, from light lime green to dark forest green, to create depth. Design the rocks with gray and brown tones, adding dark shadows in the cracks. The sky looks mystical in a dark blue or purple. With colored pencils, you can highlight fine details of the plants and add eyes and features to the dinosaur.
